Research Focus

PHYSIOPATHOLOGY OF RHEUMATIC DISEASES

Rheumatic diseases are characterized by complex pathophysiology and not completely understood. The study of the pathophysiology of rheumatic diseases aims to investigate mechanisms not yet elucidated involving autoantibody research, molecular and cellular pathways, inflammatory mechanisms and genetics of rheumatic diseases.

Focus:MOLECULAR AND CELLULAR BIOLOGY APPLIED TO RHEUMATOLOGY

PROPHETICS IN RHEUMATOLOGY

Evaluates different imaging methods, including radiography, computed tomography, ultrasonography, PET-CT, bone densitometry and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance. Aspects related to the relevance of the method for diagnosis, association with activity or severity are evaluated in individuals with different rheumatic conditions or conditions.

CLINICAL AND EPIDEMIOLOGICAL ASPECTS OF RHEUMATIC DISEASES

Visa estudar a epidemiologia e propriedades de medida dos parâmetros clínicos, laboratoriais e econômicos utilizados no estudo de pacientes com doenças músculo-esqueléticas e reumáticas, além das causas de morte desses pacientes.

Focus:EVALUATION OF CLINICAL AND LABORATORY PARAMETERS

Focus:STUDY OF CAUSES OF DEATH IN RHEUMATIC DISEASES

RHEUMATOLOGICAL THERAPEUTICS

Despite the advances observed in recent years in the treatment of rheumatologic diseases, the treatment of certain manifestations still remains challenging. Studies and clinical trials are carried out encompassing drug treatment, physical activity and the rehabilitation area in the different rheumatic diseases. Particularly in the area of rehabilitation are carried out studies for the evaluation of physical means, orthoses, besides study of kinesiotherapy and joint function.
